The Bilco Company

Web, Collateral, Advertising, Media, Social Media, Public Relations, Video

Catalyst has been the agency of record for The Bilco Company since 1998, handling design, production, media scheduling, social media and public relations and more for the company’s commercial and residential product lines. While we’ve built up quite a portfolio over 20 years, included below is some of our more recent work on Bilco’s behalf.

Making a Statement in Print

Whether it’s a unique print ad to promote Bilco’s line of energy-conserving Natural Ventilation products or an environmentally-friendly way to promote product specifications, our account team works hard to come up with fresh approaches that cost-effectively generate impressions and stimulate sales. Such was the case with the Natural Ventilation ad series (a top-performing ad according to an Architect Magazine reader study) and a webkey mailer that easily loaded online product specifications to architects and specifiers in Western Canada, preventing the unnecessary printing of large binders.

And… Action!

A live-action video was the ideal tool to highlight the key product features and ease of installation of Bilco’s new Bil-Guard 2.0. Catalyst coordinated the product’s installation, as well as the filming, script and audio production, voice-over work, music production, video editing and more. The finished product is being used in multiple marketing executions and we expect to see product sales continue to rise.

A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words

Without a doubt, this statement is especially true in social media. So what better way to promote Bilco’s famous basement doors than through an “Ugly Basement Door Contest,” where users were invited to submit photos and garner votes for the chance to win a free replacement door. The one-month promotion generated more than 40 entrants, and 400 votes for the winning door, not to mention a significant uptick in interest for the company’s flagship product.

We Love Press Coverage!

While there are lots of good stories to tell, sometimes generating traditional media coverage these days can be challenging. But that certainly wasn’t the case when Bilco moved into its new headquarters in New Haven, Conn. We coordinated a press conference, worked with speakers, crafted talking points, developed press materials and generated a lot of media attention to boot.

Naturally this just scratches the surface in terms of all the great work we do for Bilco, but you get the idea, right?
