For me, the holidays are a time for reflection, not just personally but professionally as well. It’s a time where we can celebrate achievements, big and small, and perhaps even consider missed opportunities and what we can learn from them.
For Catalyst, 2018 was a good year. We gained a half-dozen or more new clients, which brought us into new industries, tapped our creative talents and stretched our PR capabilities in many wonderful ways. Best of all, these clients are all still with us heading into 2019, which makes me incredibly proud of our account and creative teams for continuing to generate such high levels of client satisfaction.
While it is one thing to reflect on the past, the new year also is a perfect time to refocus our efforts a bit. As we look to the future, sometimes we need to refine our thinking, our strategies and our plans – in order to become our best self. The new year gives us the chance to set goals for where we’re going and define the path for how we’ll get there. These aren’t only overarching business decisions but personnel growth avenues as well. Are there opportunities to improve and add to our skills? Does the staff need additional training? What do our clients need?

And, while looking back and looking ahead are both a given, this year I’m asking all of our staff to look inside as well. To consider all they have to offer and how great an impact this has on our clients as well as our business year-round. This is part of the way we will rededicate ourselves to doing great work in the coming year.
In 2019, as we celebrate our 25th year in business, I am pleased to reflect on all we’ve accomplished in the last year or so. I’m also excited to refocus our energies and our efforts on doing work smarter and better than we ever have before. Thanks to a very talented staff, strong partnerships and advances in technology, this is all easily within our reach. But most of all, I want us to always perform to our fullest potential. That means managing projects efficiently and with attention to detail; constantly bringing new ideas to our clients’ marketing programs; being proactive in account leadership and anticipating our clients’ needs; and achieving results that exceed even our own expectations.
As we turn the calendar to the new year, I am deeply grateful for all of the efforts and support of our amazing clients, vendors and staff. May 2019 bring success and prosperity for all!
